Joe Darrah NE AKTA 2012 Throw! Berwyn, PA. MAY

Joe Darrah will be holding the 2012 NE AKTA Throw the 3rd weekend in May, the tournament will follow AKTA Rules and then we will have various games the following day, like Long Distance, Obstacle Course (just a bunch of wierd and unusual targets placed at different spots on the rounds), there will be some various Mt. Man Games and if I have enough people interested we may do a Military/Combat styl...e Throw and we'll play that by ear as we go and see who's interested.

Entrance will be 30.00 which covers the cost of food catered on Sat., usually really good hoagies from the local deli and that will help cover the Porta Potty as well, all participants will need to sign a waiver to be able to throw and as usual first priority is safety!!!

The event will be held at 260 Leopard Rd. Berwyn, PA. 19312 it will be held Sat. & Sun. but if you want to come a day early and set up a tent or whatever as there is plenty of room for that on Fri. that is fine, the cost is 30.00 per person for participants but anyone coming can throw or learn as long as they sign a waiver. There are several hotels in the area there are 3 or 4 in King Of Prussia PA. which is a few miles away and some others nearby (a google search will tell you what hotels are in the area when you type in the address)

There will be an AKTA Rules Throw on Sat. see www.akta-usa.com for rules and regulations, you don't have to bring any knives or hawks if your flying I can provide anyone with knives, if we get through the AKTA Knife and Hawk throwing quickly we may do a bit of Mt. Man throwing, I am also going to try to get a set of Jonathan Sinza Safety Knives made up and we will have a sort of mini version of maybe 2 distances all using the same knives to see what people think of it, there will be whip cracking seminars for anyone interested and on Sat. I will be having a local deli that makes awesome Hoagies (It's a Philly thing) cater the event, we will aslo on Sun. be having some throwing games like Long Distance Knife & Hawk and try to do some more Mt. Man games and just have some fun throwing.

In the last few years thanks to some other makers we have had prize knives for everyone or hawks or some other knives hopefully we will again this year, this will be the third year we held the event and Punong Guro (similar to Master or Sensei) Mat Marinas author and creator of Pananandata and and several other books is supposed to attend, Che Che White Cloud is going to try to make it as is Mike & Rosa Gross of One Sharp Marriage, Dick and Rose Haines The Dean Of Knife Throwing usually come as well and it's generally just a good all around time and a place to learn and hone some of your skills anyway
